Regarded as one of the most exciting talents of the classical guitar today, Colin Davin has earned a reputation as a virtuoso guitarist and a refined interpreter. Known also for his engaging stage presence, Mr. Davin has performed for audiences at venues across the United States, including recent appearances in Austin, TX; Portland, OR; Los Angeles, CA; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, GA.

He has also performed in Paris, France. Mr. Davin's devotion to the expansion of the guitar's repertoire is evidenced by his performances of world premieres by several composers for solo guitar, guitar quartet, guitar and voice duo, and guitar and percussion duo.

In both 2005 and 2006, Mr. Davin was a top prizewinner in the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Solo Competition, and also holds several other competition accolades, including:
 
  - First Prize, 2008 Columbus State University Guitar Competition (Columbus, GA)
  - First Prize, 2007 Miami International Guitar Competition (Miami, FL)
  - First Prize, Audience Choice Award, 2006 Portland Guitar Competition (Portland, OR)
  - First Prize, 2006 Juan Serrano International Guitar Competition (Fresno, CA)
  - Finalist and Prizewinner, 2006 Lachine International Guitar Competition (Montreal, Canada)
  - Finalist and Prizewinner, 2004 East Carolina University Guitar Competition (Greenville, NC)

In addition to his acclaim as a guitarist, Mr. Davin has displayed impressive musical diversity, performing in concert and film music settings on mandolin, oud, and banjo, most recently touring France and Spain as banjoist with the New World Symphony and the OpĂ©ra Comique of Paris in a production of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.  Another notable performance featured Mr. Davin on mandolin with the Aspen Festival Orchestra directed by James Conlon in a performance of Alexander von Zemlinsky's Eine Florentinische Tragodie.

Mr. 
Davin counts among his primary teachers such world-renowned artists as Jason Vieaux, Sharon Isbin, and Pepe Romero. He recently completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, studying with Los Angeles Guitar Quartet member William Kanengiser.
